How To Bring Your Google Plus Profile To Life

Google Plus gives you a blank slate to create a media presence with limitless text and link opportunities. It's a place to create a medium that will attract both customers and followers. Add a stunning cover photo and you can turn Google Plus into a home run for your business.

The first step on your list should be your cover photo and for this, I would recommend Canva to create the right text and  imagery for your brand. Canva contains a large library of Google Plus templates for you to utilize to create a cover photo that will grab the visual attention that will get people interested  in adding you to their circles.
The recommended dimensions for your cover photo are:
Recommended size: 1080 x 608 pixels
Minimum size: 480 x 270 pixels
Maximum size: 2120 x 1192 pixels
Think of your profile as a place where you can tell the story of who you are. The trick is to grab the reader’s attention and hold their interest. When you have a blog or brand, don’t forget to match  your Google Plus cover photo with your blog and make sure that your cover photo remains the same across all of you social media channels.
Sprinkle your bio with relevant keywords
Now that you have a fantastic cover photo, let’s move on to your bio. This section is your calling card that introduces you to your customers and followers. Here is where you will highlight your skills and talents.
Writing your bio is not easy so you will need to allow plenty of time for this section. It might help to jot down a few of the ideas and phrases that you will use and what you want to say. Once your bio is complete, make sure that you update you bio on your other social media profiles so that your message is the same across all your social media channels.
When you are writing your bio, avoid overusing buzzwords. Talk to your readers as you would in person. Clearly state your message in a friendly manner but with professional text, also remember to use spell check! There would be nothing worse than to have spent all of that time to create a professional bio just have it ruined with misspelled words.

Show off your best work

You’ve finished your bio so let’s move on to the next section...your work. You have some amazing blog posts and maybe some online articles. Your profile is a great place to share those. Adding links to your best blog posts gives people a taste of your writing style. Think of it as your writing portfolio that people can browse through to see who you are.

And last but certainly not least...

Connect the rest of your online world with Google Plus

There’s no point in taking the time to create a fantastic profile if no one knows about it. Connect your online world and show off your profile. Entice your readers to want to know more about you. Add links to your blog or website. And don’t forget about those guest posts and all of the other social media websites you use.

Before you hit the save button, check your work for grammar and spelling mistakes. A fresh set of eyes might even be a good idea. Ask a friend to review your work for you. They might find something you missed.
Ok...so you’ve created a great profile and connected it with your other social media websites… you are not finished yet. There are some maintenance issues you need to attend to. Don’t let your profile get stale. Review it each month and update it as needed.
Hopefully I have given you some ideas and inspiration to bring your Google Plus profile back to life.
